Mission Statement

Re-imagining the potential of live theater by disregarding antiquated industry standards and challenging the traditional dynamics embedded in casting, storytelling, and the artist to audience relationship.

Social Responsibility Statement

Anti-capitalism, which at its core must include anti-racism, is at the center of all the work we do. We are always considering how race, class, gender, ability, nationality, size, citizenship, sexuality, and any other marker of social identity can be explored and better understood through live performance. As two white people running a business, we are dedicated to the constant re-examination of ourselves and our roles within this company. End Times cannot exist without the unique experiences of people from all walks of life because the stories we believe in telling are those that speak to intersectional liberation and the deconstruction of the systems which currently uphold our very broken society. With this being said, no one owes us acceptance, especially when so many people in our same position have failed to do things ethically and turn away from accountability. Instead, we hope that you will allow us the opportunity to prove through tangible action that we mean what we say.

If you have any feedback to share with us that you are not comfortable giving directly, feel free to submit our Anonymous Feedback Form. No one on our team will be able to connect your submission back to you. We are committed to addressing all feedback in a timely manner. If you would like to give direct feedback non-anonymously, please fill out the contact form on this website under the “Say Hello” page.

End Times Pillars

Prioritizing Artists.

1. Fair Compensation: We commit to spending as much of our budget on paying our artists as possible. Artistic labor deserves to be honored and respected, and when all parties involved are being treated with respect, the outcome of the performance will be better. We will do our best of pay the people working with us as close to a living wage as possible, while recognizing that there’s only so much we can do during our first phase of life as a company. One way we aim to increase our pay is by profit sharing 50% of ticket sales with all artists who work on a show on top of a stipend. When you spend money on an End Times ticket, that money is going directly into the hands of the artists who worked on the production. We are committed to transparency surrounding this ratio as our company grows, and will update the website as well as share on our social media if anything changes.

2. Equity and Accessibility: We understand that the current audition and application process many theater companies operate under requires a significant amount of labor. This work is not only unpaid, but often results in artists paying out of their own pocket to ensure they will be taken seriously. To help alleviate these incurred costs, End Times does not require traditional audition or application materials. No headshot? We can snap a pic of you for our records at auditions. Can't afford to purchase and print sheet music? Email us and we will provide it for you. Don't have the knowledge or experience to fill out a resume? All good, let’s just chat in the room and get to know one another! Ultimately, we value talent, commitment, and interpersonal relationships above anything else. We would never want the highly-limiting, socially-constructed concept of “professionalism" to bar us from connecting with someone who will create high-caliber art. Our auditions are not about “proving your worth” to who is behind the table, but rather an exchange of creativity and artistry in an effort to see if your vision aligns with ours.

3. Artist Advocates: For all large scale productions, End Times will have an artist advocate and intimacy coordinator to ensure all artists feel supported and safe throughout the theatrical process. This person will be available to all artists working on the production to help with conflict resolution and advocacy surrounding complex situations.

Re-conceptualizing theater works to fit the capacity of smaller, lower budget theaters.

  • Re-imagining productions outside of the context in which they are usually produced. This can include musical theater, straight plays, and the transformation of non-theater related art into a more theatrical context.

  • We are committed to intentional and innovative casting that challenges the typical dynamics you see on stage.

Community Partnership

  • We will partner with local mutual aid organizations to raise money during our productions, as well as donating 25% of our proceeds to mutual aid.

  • We will consistently donate at minimum 12.5% of our proceeds to an indigenous based mutual aid organization. The land Minnesota currently occupies was home to the Ojibwe, Dakota, Ho-Chunk, Cheyenne, Oto, Iowa, and Sac & Fox tribes. Not only to we honor their legacy, but we also acknowledge the violent history of how white settlers and the US government treated indigenous people from the founding of the US, to current day history.

  • Build community through investment in a “third space" for theater lovers and interrogating the dynamic between audience and performer. We eventually want to have a flexible space where people can experience performance without the pressure of sitting quietly for hours in an uncomfortable chair. This will be done through the production of less traditional pieces of theater, or by changing the context of more common theatrical pieces.

AI Statement

At End Times, we will never use generative AI for any of our writing, sets, graphics, social media, website, or anything else affiliated with the company. AI does not and will never create true art. We firmly believe that art is a reflection of the human experience, predicated on the innate desire to express one's true self and connect deeply with a community. Such lifeblood cannot be replicated by technology devoid of empathy, passion, and originality. Furthermore, AI is incredibly harmful to the environment. Servers running AI platforms require unconscionable amounts of water and energy to function. As a company devoted to anti-capitalism, and in-turn, environmental justice, using said systems is in direct opposition to our mission.
